The year 2024 has been unforgettable for me as a working author. Could your story be my next project? Take a look at what’s been happening in my literary world – and see if you think we’ll be a good fit. I hope so. I love meeting and working with all kinds of people. It’s a good time because I’m ready to embark on a new writing adventure.

The year began with a bang when I was invited to exploratory talks with an established producer over the possibility of making a movie of my book, The First VCs. Those conversations are ongoing – and I have no doubt this moving story would translate to the big screen in stunning style. The actors being mentioned as suitable for playing the lead roles are household names, which is exciting indeed.

A few months later I was honoured to receive the support of the Oscar-winning film producer, David Puttnam for a fresh project – my latest book, Chariots Return.
Puttnam was the creative force behind masterful movies such as Midnight Express and The Killing Fields as well as Chariots of Fire. It was truly humbling to hear his verdict on my work.

I oversaw the entire publishing process for this project through Keep It Real Publishing, my own self-publishing operation. The finished project was impressive enough to warrant orders from shops as iconic as Blackwells in Oxford, which made a point of complimenting the cover design, and Hatchards in London – where a window display was created.
Rest assured I will make sure your book looks fit for a shop window too! Various Waterstones outlets also ordered in Chariots Return, to give it a timely presence nationwide.
The book celebrated the dramatic journey of the Olympic movement through one hundred years from the “Chariots of Fire” Games of 1924 to Paris 2024. There were several complimentary reviews, and my book was described as a “perfect companion” to the Olympics.

A third book I’d written – For the Glory – became the focus later in the summer of 2024. I was invited to speak in Seattle, USA as part of celebrations honouring one of the book’s heroes, Rudy Scholz. Rudy was an elite American sportsman who also fought bravely in the bloody battle of Okinawa at the end of World War Two.
It was a daunting challenge to speak about my book in front of hundreds of people. But since my American hosts had wanted me there keenly enough to pay all my expenses, I’d like to think I rose to the challenge and conveyed the power of story-telling to my audience.

Now I’m looking for my next project. Could it be your life story? Or one close to your heart? Let’s meet to discuss the book you have in mind. I’m sure I’ll enjoy hearing all about it. Then we can discuss your options.
